Karate is not just about learning how to fight or how to hurt someone. It’s about much more than that.
The art of karate teaches us to elevate our soul and control our mind (SHIN) and then express that power through our technique and body (TAI).
To improve these aspects of karate it is important to follow the 5 dojo rules of Gichin Funakoshi. These principles must be followed by every karateka during training, but also in daily life.
1. it is a duty to strive for perfection of character
2. protect the path of truth
3. cultivate the mentality of hard work
4. respect the rules of etiquette
5. beware of impetuous exuberance
At Shintai Karate Lugano we learn to become better fighters and better people.
::: About the Chief Instructor Lugano :::
Matteo Arcuri Mori is 22 years old and is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana.
He was born and raised in Ticino, but his roots are also in Japan. Thanks to his mother’s family, he was lucky enough to get very close to this country and learn about an art and a discipline that has stayed with him to this day: Karate. He is a 2nd Dan holder and would like to bring JKS Switzerland Karate closer to Ticino.
