In 1995, Sensei Markus Weber, holder of the 2nd Dan, opened the Koubukan Karate School in Sumiswald. Just one year later, in 1996, he started the second dojo in Langnau i.E..

In addition to karate, lessons in Krav Maga and self-defence for women are also given. To date, the Koubukan martial arts school has around 60 students in Karate and Krav Maga.

In the meantime, Sensei Markus Weber has successfully passed three Dan examinations and is currently a holder of the 5th Dan. In addition, he passed the Krav Maga instructor exam in 2014.
